Mustangs Win 2018 Special Olympics Alabama State Basketball Championship

The Tuscaloosa City Schools' Mustangs won Gold at the 2018 Special Olympics Alabama March Magic State Basketball Championships. The two-day tournament was held in Montgomery, AL on March 8th and 9th. There were 29 teams from all over Alabama competeing in eight divisions. The Mustangs defeated the Helen Keller Eagles 24-12 in the semi-finals and then defeated the Exceptional Foundation Rainmakers 27-14 in the finals to bring home their fifth state championship in the last nine years. Tournament MVP, Edward Odum led the Mustangs with a pair of double, doubles scoring 26 points and pulling down 28 rebounds.
